Amanda brings a wealth of experience to her individual and group art therapy sessions having spent sixteen years working creatively with diverse people and needs, eight of which have been as an art therapist in the public and private health system and in private practice.  In 1999, Amanda completed the Diploma of transpersonal Art Therapy at Ikon (Phoenix) Institute in Victoria.  She commenced her career in aged care.  In 2001, Amanda co-established The Art Therapy Studio at Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre with colleague Jenni Harris.  At Royal Talbot Amanda works with people whose lives have been critically changed as a result of an accident, illness, or trauma.  Having a special interest in people with ABI (Acquired Brain Injury) Amanda then continued her study via correspondence with the Arther Institute in New York, completing an entry level certificate in Del Giacco’s Neuro Art Therapy.

Amanda’s expertise has taken her interstate, to facilitate a pilot Art Therapy program at Greenmeadow Court in Brisbane, and to facilitate workshops at invitation to Health Integrative Medical Centre in Gosford NSW.

With a passion for working with children and adolescents, Amanda has taken locum positions on the paediatric ward at Monash Medical Centre, and the adolescent ward and The Royal Children’s Hospital.

As well as providing individual sessions and a range of group session for the community and corporate sector, Amanda also teaches students enrolled in the Diploma of Transpersonal Art Therapy at Phoenix Institute in Prahran.

Amanda believes art has the power to inform, inspire, heal and empower – an energy that everyone can access to enhance their health and well-being.  This belief has been a guiding force in her work over the last 15 years.
